Multi-Fracture Growth Law for Temporary Plugging and Diversion Fracturing of Horizontal Well with Multiple Clusters in Shale Reservoir

Temporary plugging and diversion fracturing (TPDF) is a common method to increase production efficiency in shale gas reservoirs, but the growth law of fractures temporary mechanism are still unclear, which restricts further optimization schemes. Therefore, this study, series simulation experiments TPDF horizontal well with multi-clusters were carried out for Longmaxi Shale outcrop by using large true triaxial system. The laboratory “inner-fracture + inner-segment” multiple clusters perforation wells was proposed, fracture initiation control factors, including number perforating, investigated. experimental results show that peak pressures inner-fracture (IFTP) inner-segment (ISTP) stages higher, overall complexity hydraulic (HFs) higher when five. IFTP ISTP do not significantly under fixed-face perforating condition compared helical pressure profile fluctuates more frequently, HF morphology complex, transverse (THFs) higher. In addition, multi-fractures corresponds stage frequent fluctuations wellhead pressure, during reaches drops sharply, indicating generation larger widths grow toward surface rock sample. study provide theoretical basis design schemes laminar-rich Formation reservoir.
